John's First Christmas

John's first Christmas was a rousing success. He received more toys to play with than we know what to do with! He also really enjoyed seeing relatives and friends at all the Christmas celebrations especially since they gave him so much love and attention. We'll post more pictures soon, but here is a neat one that Emmalie's cousin Christopher took of John reaching for the lights on the Christmas tree.

Our Little Night Owl

John has an amazing ability to bounce back full of energy late at night. The other evening we got back late from a Sunday School Christmas party, and John fell asleep on the way home. While I was changing his diaper and getting him ready for bed a dark room, he just came to life! I finally turned on the lights and just videoed him. You would think it was the middle of the afternoon!

Getting in the Christmas Spirit

John is really enjoying his first Christmas. He went to Tyler with Matt and his family on Saturday and opened his own Christmas present. Of course, the tissue paper was equally exciting as the present.

All that opening presents and playing wore him out though . . .

On Sunday, John went to his first church candlelight Christmas service. Even though he spent it in the children's building, that didn't stop us from putting on a holiday outfit and taking some pictures!

First Trip to See Santa

As we mentioned before, John had his first trip to visit Santa at the Waco Junior League Gift Market. We scanned the picture so we have a digital copy now. He certainly isn't scared!

6 Month Appointment & Christmas Spirit

John had his 6 month appointment this afternoon, and he had a good time hanging out with the doctor until we got to the shots part. He continues to grow and grow! His length is 26.75", and he now weighs 19 pounds and 11 ounces. We can't believe he's almost to 20 pounds!

John's also been getting in the Christmas spirit. Below are some pictures of John in some holiday attire.

Baylor Basketball & Christmas Tree Lighting

On Thursday, we all went to the Baylor vs. Arizona State Men's Basketball game. It was John's second basketball game, and he had a good time once again. This time he hung out with Landon Willis for a little bit which John thought was really cool. Landon was a little less interested.

After the game, we went to the Baylor Christmas Tree Lighting where John got his picture with Judge Starr the Baylor President before heading over the to Christmas tree for some more pictures. The event was really neat with the Student Center decorated inside, an outdoor ice skating rink, a concert, carriage rides and more.

John and the Quacking Duck

Matt's parents have an inflatable baby pool/tub that is shaped like a duck. John learned this week that the beak makes noise when he squeezes it. He thought that was pretty hilarious! Below is a video of him from playing with it and some pictures of John having a pretty good time.

Baylor Shirt & First Ear Infection

Ever since John started going to Mother's Day out, we have begun experiencing the joys of a sick baby. Last week he got his first official ear infection. We both felt so bad for him and wanted to make it all better. Luckily for us, he was still one happy little man.

He didn't go to the Baylor game since he was sick, but that doesn't mean he can't get ready for game day. The shirt he's wearing was Matt's when he was little. You can see it says 19??. This is one of our favorite pictures!

Jumperoo - John's New Favorite Activity

When John isn't rolling over and putting on a floor gymnastics show, he LOVES to play in his Jumperoo! Sometimes when he finishes playing in it for a while he will still just be bouncing his legs everywhere he goes.

Waco Christmas Market

Emmalie had a booth at the Waco Christmas Market this year so John came up to see everything. He wore some Christmas attire and got his picture with all the family members. He even got his picture with Santa, but we weren't allowed to take our own picture with our camera so we'll post that later.

Sometimes I get the feeling he just needs a little more attention! :)

John's First Halloween!

John had a great first Halloween! Both of our parents came over to see him and help hand out candy.

John even went for a stroll around to visit our neighbors so they could see him on his first Halloween!

Back Home from Georgia

We're back home from Georgia, and John did just as well coming back as he did going. On the last day of the trip the guys, including John, hung out all day together. We had a lot of fun and visited the Mayfield Dairy (similar to Blue Bell) and had some ice cream.

Here's a picture from the Mayfield Dairy.

Here's one of all the guys. Here's John resting up with Uncle Tugg before the journey home. One more picture of John with some pumpkins.

Pumpkin Pictures & Halloween Costume!

We went to a pumpkin patch today and got some pumpkins for Amy's house. That made the perfect backdrop for some fall pictures and for John to wear his puppy dog Halloween costume.

Hmmm . . . I wonder if I can fit that in my mouth.

I'm SOOOO thrilled to be wearing my new doggy costume!

Well, maybe it's not that bad.

Trip to Georgia

The whole family is in Georgia this week for some vacation and a visit to Emmalie's sister Amy and her husband Matt. John has done amazing on the drive out here and has been a real trooper. Here are some pics from our road trip and time here.

John is ready to go even if he has to drive!

We arrived, and John is hanging out with the family . . .

John Laughing

We have been trying for a while to get John's laugh recorded, and we finally succeeded! As you can imagine, whatever we were doing was not so funny anymore once we started recording. We can't help but smile each time we hear it.

Trip to Dallas for Baylor Game

We had a fun time in Dallas this weekend even though the Bears lost a close one. John stayed at the hotel during the game with GiCi (Matt's mom) while Emmalie, Matt, Matt's dad and sister Melissa all went to the Baylor vs. Texas Tech game at the Cotton Bowl.

After the game, we took at trip to North Park to do some shopping. John was not too interested at first . . .

Later on he woke up and decided the mall was the perfect place for some dinner.

First Day at Mother's Day Out!

Wow . . . how he's growing up fast! He doesn't look nervous for his first day at Mother's Day Out! This picture just makes us smile each time we look at it. He looks like a little man just hanging out in his chair.

Uncle Tug's Visit

Emmalie's sister Amy and her husband Matt came in town this weekend to visit and also to attend John's Dedication at church on Sunday. We'll have some pictures of the dedication soon, but here are some of Matt Tuggle (Uncle Tug) visiting John for the first time.

Ready for the Baylor game on Saturday!

Both of them celebrating Baylor's victory!

Sleepy on Monday morning after a busy weekend.

Various Pictures . . .

It's been a while since we've posted so here are some random pics of John over the last couple of weeks.

John Loves Playing on His Mat!

John loves his play mat. He has always liked looking at the mirror and all the hanging toys, but now he really grabs the other toys and plays with them.

Baylor Game #2

Well . . . John still thinks Baylor is the best team ever since they are still undefeated! He went to his second Baylor game on Saturday so he stepped up his game a little. He wore a Baylor jersey that Matt wore as a baby and some khaki shorts.
Matt's parents stopped by the store to see him in his little outfit.
